On the 11 January 2010 at Norwich Magistrates Court following proceedings taken by the Health and Safety Executive, Mr George Farrow was convicted of an offence relating to the storage of an unapproved pesticide product. The product contained the active ingredient sodium cyanide which when used or exposed to water (including moisture in the air) releases a poisonous gas, hydrogen cyanide. Hydrogen cyanide is very toxic and exposure to even small amounts can kill.
Mr Farrow pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined £600.
